Need help on restoring 68 non-AC heater control panel

I need to spruce up my heater control panel and have a couple of questions. Are the chrome plated knobs metal or plastic from the factory? I tried to pry mine off and they wouldn't budge. I saw a video of removing them with a pair of pliers but mine won't come off even with the pliers. I'm afraid of prying too hard and breaking the internal arms. If the knobs were plastic from the factory I'll just put some slits in them with a dremel tool to make them pry off easier.

With respect to the lens, I see repops available as Camaro parts, but the 67 lenses have green letters and the 68 have aqua letters. My original lens looks like white letters. Again, this is a non-AC heater control panel. Is the aqua correct and my lens lettering is just faded or is there a white letter lens out their for the 68 Birds?

With respect to the chromed metal bezel, the inside edges were originally painted sort of a gunmetal blue and mine is scratched up. Is that paint available from any suppliers? It looks similar to the background color of the dash gauges.

Thanks in advance for your help and wisdom.
