Searching for 1969 GTO – VIN 242379G115083 – Traded in PA in 1974

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping to tap into the knowledge of the Pontiac community in trying to locate my father’s original 1969 GTO.

Here are the details:
• VIN: 242379G115083
• Model: 1969 GTO hardtop (Framingham “G” plant)
• Engine/Trans: 400ci / automatic with console floor shifter
• Exterior: Light green
• Top: Dark green vinyl top
• Interior: Dark green
• No rear spoiler
• Likely non-A/C car

The car was traded on April 15, 1974 at Paul S. Spaar Pontiac Buick in Palm (Chapel), Pennsylvania. It was titled to my grandmother at the time (my dad was 17 and had it insured under her name).

We are currently researching the title chain through PennDOT and have contacted possible auction channels from that time period. I understand many cars from the mid-70s disappeared due to rust or neglect, but I’m hoping this one may have survived.

If anyone has encountered a green 1969 GTO matching this description—especially one originally from Pennsylvania—or recognizes the VIN sequence, I would be extremely grateful for any information.

Even confirmation that the car still exists would mean a great deal to our family.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
