lakewood recert and modification

while reading up on what it would take to keep my jerico alive at the 1k hp mark....it seems a slipper clutch is the ticket.

pretty pricey clutch, and also needs adjustment. looks like some say you can drill a hole in the flat and still recertify. some said they had to have lakewood do it. id hate to ruin a bell that now runs 1k. mines been on the shelf for years so a recert would be needed any way.

anyone done the adjustment hole for the allen wrench to fit through. still debating the auto change over but id like to keep with the 4 speed if possible..atleast for now

this will be behind a roots blown 535, i think the tq is gonna be pretty hard on the 4 speed.

If you do any mods on your own, it can't be recertified. You need to send your needs to Lakewood and see if they'll do it. From the NHRA Rulebook section 21, page 13:

" Absolutely no modifications to
as-manufactured design are permitted on SFI Spec 6.1, 6.2, or
6.3 flywheel shields and/or liners"
