I just picked up an Amazon one a couple months ago, haven't used it yet since I have been using a snap on unit at my friend's shop. I like the idea of a built in compressor, I'll get around to trying it out and report back.

Years ago I made my own with a couple of hose fittings, a pickle jar, HF soldering iron, spare hose, and a HF hand pump. Oh, yeah... Almost forgot the old sock and dollar store baby oil.

Squidward - You sound like a real MacGyver (tv show - not the movie). Probably dating myself a bit there! Not sure about that Dollar Store shopping list of yours though, lol.
