tips for installing replacement Trans Am engine turned applique
 

I bought a engine turned dash applique from NPD and it came through Phoenix Graphics. In the instructions it mentions a few things am not familiar with and thought someone here would know better-
it mentions "pre-app"/
later it mentions "slide out".
not sure what those are and instructions are not very 'instructive'.
So, what have you all used to install this to clean and prep and put on? do you need any special prep.cleaners, etc or can one install with normal house hold products?
