Getting back in the game

Gents, i just bought a 80 with a 396 in it. Shroud had to be cut. Anyone know one that will fit or should i just put on couple electric fans?

396 what?

indymanjoe 03-22-2026 10:07 AM

im guessing a Trans Am

So a Firebird with a BB Chevy motor?

I'd search out a fan shroud for an early-mid 70s Camaro with the BBC and make it fit.

You will NEVER be happy with electric fans. Never. EVER.

Factory shroud with a 19.5" 7-blade factory fan and HD Hayden fan clutch will cool it correctly.

Good luck!

I assume a TA also since this is the 77-81 firebird & trans am section. Was asking what the 396 is... like a funky stroked Pontiac 350 or a ... chevy. :gag:

Has it still got leaf springs on the rear?

Here's the setup. Someone wanted lots of rake i guess:)

Removed shocks and remounted wheels. No difference cause those HD leafs.

What you say i do. Any pics of springs you've used for drop?

Show me stance pics guys.

Thanks
Brad
