1967 firebird info
 

Can someone decode this build? The car has the factory rear end torque bars that mount under the rear floor pans. It also is a ram air car.

If it has 2 rear axle torque bars it is either a factory 326 HO or 400 Firebird.

If just a a single torque bar, just a 6 cylinder or 326 2bbl car.

It's a 326 HO engine in it originally.

If I correctly recall, one arm versus two is tied only to axle ratio, and I believe it's spelled out in an image in the 1967 Firebird supplement service manual. Pretty sure the Sprint manual transmission got two bars. I don't have access to my library at this time, but it was probably 3.36 or 3.55 and higher numerically.

Manual trans got 2 rods except for 1bbl 6cyl which got one rod.

one arm: automatic, two arms: stick shift. I have a factory 67 Firebird 400 with a TH400 and it has one arm. Once had a regular 2bbl 326 with a factory 4 speed, and it had two arms. I think only the one barrel six cylinder had no arm, regardless if stick or auto.

Could you get ram air on the 326 ho? Even if the car was a late build was it a option? The car had been sitting for years. It had the complete ram air system on the car. I suppose it was owner added at some point.
