OK, but what's the proper cam choice for this application?

The name hi-rail comes from the shortening of highway and railway.

Maybe powered by the 316.6 cubic inch "Strato-Streak" V8 engine. You can bet the retractable street tires sure wouldn't need much torque to do a burnout on steel rails :)

Since I'm also rail enthusiast real and model I knew about that vehicle. There are others,Pontiacs that is. I'll have to look.

If it ran on 3 rail track like O gauge Lionel does would it be fitting to have a Tripower motor in it?

A FWIW.... the Thumpr cams have their roots based on road race track use where the cars benefitted on power coming off the corners.
