Sources For Junkyard or Custom Steel Wheels (NASCAR tribute)
 

I’m not a NASCAR fan, but I have a wild hair to do the 63 Cat as a “NASCAR inspired” look. Let’s just call it a bucks down way to do the stance and drivability of a pro touring build with a nod to the racetrack dominance Pontiac had in the early 60’s. Big part of that look is some black painted steel wheels, but I want to run modern rubber. I’m looking for 17 to 19 inch hoops with at least with 8’s in the front and 10’s or 11’s in the rear. Lots of steel wheels on trucks in that size, but how many with a 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern? I’m willing to consider scrounging junkyard wheels and cutting and welding something to the right width and backspacing, but I’d REALLY like to find a wheel fabricator that will build me some wheels on the cheap.

Any ideas on a bucks down method to get me what I want?

A big car should be 5 on 5 bolt pattern. Maybe easier to find what you are looking for with the big car pattern.

These are the 5x4.75 that you asked about. I do believe what you want is a 5x5.

Summit doesn't stock that size, but WV does make them and Summit can get them.

My Cat has been converted to the 5 × 4.75 lug pattern - forgot to mention that.

Thanks for the link Champ. Saw those and aside from the sticker shock, the back spacing options don't get me where I need to be. I happen to have a 68-72 Abody rear end fitted and that will drive weird offset that is almost certainly something I'm going to have to make custom

Cragar Soft 8s are a good looking wheel. I had a set of 17x8s on my LeMans. Really liked the vibe, but they are HEAVY. 50 lbs per wheel! Unfortunately I think just about any 17” steel wheel is gonna be portly.

They are aluminum but look like a steelie. Best part is they accept OEM dog dish hub caps

There are a few places that can custom make some in different offsets too. Bassett does circle track wheels . Used them for some steel 16x10 for the Camaro when I autocross it with a SBC and road race slicks.
