Find the Body number of my 68 GTO pile-o-parts puzzle?
While I'm looking through my pile-o-parts that should become a 68 GTO sometime, I'm hoping to get a clue as to what the body number should be. I understand that it would be on the cowl tag ... if I had that. Maybe I'll find it, maybe I won't. But until then, from the PHS report the manufacture date is 07A, or the first week of July and I gotta believe the plant was dark on Independence Day. The invoice date is 5 July 1968. I'll take any thoughts, but for now ...
Anyone out there have cars with a 07A Fremont build that would share their body numbers? I'm hoping that gives me a clue. Thanks, Scot |
How did you get a PHS report if your firewall plate near the hood hinge is missing?
What about the VIN plate on the top of the instrument panel? Did you disassemble the car yourself or buy a big box of parts and a rolling frame? |
You don't need anything on the firewall plate to get the PHS.
Just the VIN, and really just the plant and last 6 digits of the VIN. (like from the engine block partial VIN) Is there a build sheet in the pile of stuff? Or hidden still in the car? Possibly with that you can find the body #. |
Broadcast sheets: check under each seat spring suspension, and on top the Gas tank.
