Motor mounts

Can somebody tell what these motor mounts fit and can I use them to install a 455 in my 70 Formula. These came in a box of parts that came with the car. Thanks

Hard to tell what body style they came from, there should be a code stamped into them, Those later style mounts came in B-A-F, and G body styles that all differ slightly in hieght.

If they are F-body mounts they should work on your Formula with the correct style captured frame mounts.

^^^ Yup.

There's AT LEAST two different styles. He says there's several different styles, and I can't contradict that.. What I know from experience is that the Fullsize mounts are taller than the F-body mounts. I found that out the hard way.

70-74 f-body don’t use that style mount.

There should be part #'s stamped on them that will identify what they are from... i started a thread not too long ago that someone posted some numbers. Google should help too.

You can use them, just order the correct frame side mounts to pair them with. 70s have steel clam shell style frame mounts, later cars have a steel and rubber combo mount.

They look too tall for Firebird. They look like "B" body mounts.

OK so we are saying these are not correct for 70 Firebird Formula . I media blasted them and can not find any numbers. Sorry guys but this will be my first time installing a motor.

The metal mounts that bolt to the engine are NOT compatible with those frame mounts.

You need a pair of the 1970 rubber & steel motor mounts.

Part numbers are 2335 and 2336.

They bolt to the engine block and sit down over that frame mount.

Then a long bolt goes through the motor mount AND the frame mount (both) from front to back.

My understanding. Here are the frame mounts used. https://butlerperformance.com/i-3164...tegory:1393553

This is what my 72 Firebird has.
My 76 Trans am has those other ones pictures above. With the clam shell frame mounts. https://butlerperformance.com/i-3016...tegory:1393551
