Picked up a set of these that have never been run....heavy rods, but look decent. No info or paperwork. Anyone know the history and or limits of these rods? I know they were popular among Super Stock guys.

6.625 length

I can’t believe I still have this catalog of there’s from 1979, but here ya go, enjoy!

Those Pontiac rods where based on there BBC blank to get the needed Pontiac center to center, so the Pontiac rods where not based on there SS line of rods if I recall right.

Looks like a set of these rods back in 79 would have cost you at least $1100.00

Wow, your catalog collection through the years amazes me. These are floaters and new never run. I image they are a pretty decent rod.

$1100 in 1979 was a bunch. Around $5k todays money.

Being based on the BBC blank they should go 7000 rpm no sweat.

Are they 3/8” bolts or 7/16”?

I ran them in my IA2 blown alcohol engine along with their pistons. This was back a fee years. We were just beginning to make some good numbers and torched a head. North of 1600 HP with more to go. Pulled it down they were all like new after testing. Customer service was good too.

C&A

Those are nice & strong good quality American made rods.
I have been running a set of them in the 464 in my blue car for the last 30+ years. Wish they still made them.

For my latest 469 build, I had to go with a 6.700" Callies Rod and some custom JE Pistons to get American made. Not cheap...

But I'm happy to pay it, because there will be none of that chinese crap for me in any of my engines...

One of the first aftermarket rods to be approved by the NHRA for use in Pontiac engines in Stock and Super Stock classes. Wish I had purchased a set back in the day.
