Intake Gasket question...
 

I'm putting the intake back on my 70 Formula 400, wondered about these blockoff plates? I can't remember if the other gaskets had them when I took them off. The car is all stock. Quadrajet carb, stock air cleaner... I'm assuming that those dont get used on a stock engine, but I thought I'd ask

You only need them if you want to block off the exhaust crossover. The choke won't work then. Used for racing mainly. So, not really needed for street use.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the response. I also assume that circle will be enough to activate the choke properly? Seems odd to me, even if you don't use the block off plate the gasket itself still blocks off alot of that area of the intake
