Windows 11 / Chrome
Hi All.
My Google Chrome shows google as the default search engine but, when inside chrome it defaults to bing. Somthing similar happened 6 months ago, it was an easy fix, I found a recently downloaded app, deleted it all good. This time, the issue seems to be buried somewhere. Things I have done so far.
Thanks. |
Bing is part of MS and Chrome is MS, so probably something in the settings for Chrome? Or MS might have changed the browser to make it hard to use Google.
I personally don't like Chrome. So not much help. |
Assuming you are running Edge as your browser, you can change the search engine from Bing to Google. Just FYI, Edge runs on the same platform as Chrome...this happened in about 2020.
It's not easy, but you can do it.. In the upper right corner of Edge, open its menu by clicking the 3 dots. Then: - Open Settings - On the left-side bar, click on "Privacy, search, and services" - On the bottom of the menu, you then click on "Search and connected experiences" - Again, at the bottom of the menu, click on "Address bar and search" - Finally, you will see this screen with a "pull-down" that lets you use Google as your search engine within Edge https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1778970456 |
Thanks.
It worked fine until the other day. Not sure if chrome updated? |
Good luck! Sounds like you are using Chrome and not Edge, so maybe there's a similar path?
