Nothing oem style seems to last today. This place you can shop.

In in the end unfortunately a vintage air kit makes the most sense. Friends have tried multiple old school style oem looking compressors and they failed in no time.

I used a Pro6Ten compressor when I installed a MK IV under dash unit. It bolted right up to the A6 factory brackets and lined up with the factory AC crankshaft pulley. I did paint it black.

And it's light enough not to require the large triangular bracket that mounts over the valve cover although you can use it if you desire.

Alma products makes a good A6 compressor. They were sold the original tooling by GM. They're pricey, though.
