Prebent tranny cooler lines! Ugh
 

I bought a set of prevent tranny cooler lines from Summit for my 69 bird. It’s like some sort of ungodly puzzle. The line that goes into the upper fitting on radiator is I’m possible. I spent an hour on it. Walked away and came back next day without progress. Either line is wrong or I’m missing something!! I’m DONE. I ordered all the fittings and lines for 6AN lines. At this point I’m not looking for help just sharing my misery.

Anybody need a set of steel prebent tranny cooler lines? You pay the shipping and their yours!!

Only prebent stuff I've ever had good luck with was from inline tube. Everything else was close, but not quite. Some were worse than others.

I’ve used Inline Tube on my bird with zero issues.

My most recent experience with inline tube (earlier this year for a semi-OT '71 GMC) the rear axle lines they sent were either bend wrong and/or incorrect for the application (this was after them shorting me parts on the original order). I've had decent experiences ordering from them in the past but this was not one of them.

I bought a set of tranny lines this year from Inline Tube and they were perfect, I set them next to my original ones and perfect match for my 68 GTO.

I have a 78, I had installed prebent lines several years ago. I had to replace engine. It took me some time to snake them back in. I was frustrated because I houdini them in years ago. I had to separate them to have a chance. Just venting, sometimes the simple things are annoying 😑

I bought mine from Ames years ago and they fit well, it was a bit of a challenge snaking them into place. I ran them in from the front between the engine and manifolds, it only took a few new curse words.

I installed cooler lines from Inline tube in a second gen Firebird recently. The were well made with nice, crisp bends and well formed ends. I put masking tape over the nuts and ends so they wouldn't scratch the paint off the chassis and oil pan. They did require some minor bending and fitting around the oil filter housing and the modulator. Overall, happy with them. I especially liked that they were shipped in a 6' long box. So no bending to fit them in the box.

I have used the Summit branded braided steel hoses and the Doorman ones for fuel lines on Chevy trucks. If your not concerned about a stock OE look, they are a great option IMO. Since they are not self supporting, make sure you use lots of zip ties or clamps.

I went with all 6AN. Way easier.

Since they're black, they don't look out of place in the engine compartment.
