Mini Starter Fit With Headers-
To address heat soak issues in a couple PowerMaster 9610 mini-starters over the years (nothing serious, just degradation and hard starts at the worse times) I switched to the PowerMaster Ultra Torque 9410. Using some shorty headers there will be a fit issue. Does anyone have experience with a mini starter with the performance of the PowerMaster Ultra Torque 9410 using a different brand and with headers. The application is a second gen 455 Trans Am.

I have a 9610 on my 66, long tube Doug’s and no issues. I do have a remote solenoid and 1 gauge battery cables though. What is your battery cable setup?

The 9610 works, it the 9410 that won't fit. I have my battery in the OEM location driver side front by rad support. Thanks.

I used the RobbMC starter with Hedman headers and a Canton T-pan. The ability to reposition the solenoid made it easy to find the right placement for fit.
And it starts fine with 34 deg locked timing and 12 volt battery in the trunk Eric |
RobbMc you can infinitely reclock easily.
