I know cause put them same drawer past 40 yrs!

If you want to find them, buy another set. You will find them a couple days after you use the ones you bought. I have 3 boxes and several cabinets myself. Only thing worse is buying parts, forgetting you bought them already, then buying them again.

Ok my neighbor borrowed set 6 months ago.
Cant find ao lesson learned.
Habor freight 15 minutes away tomorrow.

There's 2 or 3 people that I ever let borrow tools anymore. I keep a notebook now so I can remember who borrowed what. I started giving some the imported stuff away to people starting out. I had stuff I was given years ago and yard sale stuff bought as a bundle when I only needed a few things. I would rather give away stuff I'm not using than move it ever again. If I didn't need it for 20 years, it can go now.

Let me know if you find my 10mm 1/4'' socket, it's been missing for years.;)

OMG, I was looking for my snap ring plyers for months and finally found them a week ago in the shed of all places. No clue how they got in there.

SInce I'm retired I plan to sell off most tools. I have a hardware store of nails, screws hinges etc, 38 different kinds of hammers, 4 heat guns, 6 electric drills, and the list goes on and on, I'll keep most of my Grandfather and Great Grandfathers stuff but the rest will find a new home, I hope.

Ya what is it about 5/16 and 10mm socket disappearing?
1/4 3/8 14 mm sockets split so easy.
If room use impact sockets reduced to 38th ratchet.
Always use 1-2 sometimes 3 magnetic trays.
Nut and bolts this one.
Small tool tools that one.
If on ground or under vehicle aluminum tote box made in high school 1976 or 7...
Can stand on the handle in need still hasn't bent.
But only 160 vs 180 back in 30-50s

Got decent set from harbor freight sould last next 20 yrs.

Dont get me started on tools and hardware.
2 separate tool 9 drawer tool boxes.
1 ea 9 drawer with flip top just for sae vs metric.
Wrenches take up 2 drawers. 1 sae 1 metric.
Neen a socket? 12 different sets including deep and shallow impact.
Need a drill? 4 different ones including a cordless. What you working on?
A hammer? Big drawer full. Doing body work? Framing? Studs? Dry wall?
How bout a sledge hammer. 4 fron 1lb up to 6.
8 lb maul? Yep

Need clean out basement. It's a hazmat.
Probly 20 some cans of vehicle paint products.
3-4 different leftover hafe gallons of paint.

Plus side got my 15 yr old 26lb cat down to 21lbs last 6 months.
Pour bud only has few teeth left.
Still wants eat 24-7!

Dude I lose stuff I touched 10 minutes ago.

That is why I triple up on tools especially when I see them at yard sales for cheap. I spend more time looking for tools I lost then getting actual work done. I feel like I have to many tools though and like others have said I look through drawers and discover tools I forgot I had purchased. I am thinking it is time to sell off some tools at least the quadruples. I have found some cordless tools and metrinch tools is all I really need in 90% of the time. My junkyard tool bag has essentially everything I need. Just recently bought this great Dewalt tool bag 23" long ballistic nylon for when times get rough at the junkyard

I was on my way to work one morning and the truck in front of me just randomly dumped out a bunch of tools from underneath. Was that you? Luckily none of them kicked up (I hope).

Ive never dumped a bunch at once, but I have lost a couple of expensive tool truck wrenches.

One is still somehwere in the field behind my house. I had just gotten my 1943 MB running and was joyriding it offroad in the field. Tools floating around in the floor pan. The floor pan that had large rust holes in it........


I also am forever looking for my mag base light. Glad I am not totally alone.

A constant battle between myself and my wife is I like to keep new unused parts for my cars in the house. She contends they should go in the garage. I contend back that the garage is the twilight zone and I may never find them again. Do car parts go in the dining room? Maybe not, but at least I know where they are.

I lose parts I know I bought and don't remember selling, then I find parts I don't remember buying.

When senility starts setting in, every day can be like Christmas.

I've been losing parts for 30+ years. It was like Christmas when I found my stash of NOS Grand National parts that I forgot about for a decade and a half.
