2nd gen kick panels
Will need to replace the kick panels in the '70 T/A as the originals are crispy. Anyone have reviews of reproduction brands they have tried? I was thinking OER but I have not used anything from them before.

Used the OER panels in my 70. They fit well. The only knock I have is the cables for the fresh air vents were slightly short, so it took a little tweaking to get them functioning properly.
Overall they look great |
what color do you need?
I have a couple sets of originals which are perfect... And if your original cables are fine, you can swap them over. 1970 used chrome pull knobs, while more common later cars used black knobs. |
1970 T/A with bright blue interior no A/C. Thank you.

Hmm, I have black knobs. I just figured standard interior got black and deluxe got chrome. My originals were so toasted I couldn't tell what they looked like lol
Oh well. Heres a few pics during initial fitment https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4b95364a_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e848c067_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...13380852_b.jpg |
Yes. Those do look good. What product did you use to get the blue color on those?
|
I purchased some OER brand for my 73 and they are black. I was not impressed with the color as they are very dull looking. I was wondering if they were supposed to be painted with a black paint.

I have a can of spray paint that I believe I got from Ames, and it's close to original. If you're just doing the kick panels, I'd go that route. The match should be close, and since the parts are under the dash you have a little leeway if they dont match spot on. |
