Trunk Spatter Paint???
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone have a first hand recommendation for a black/aqua spatter paint that is like the original??? Something close to my pic would be great.
I'd prefer to stay away from rattle cans if possible. Thanks |
I know you indicated no aerosol but you may want to check these out anyway. I’ve had great luck with them and the folks there are very helpful. These also aren’t affected by moisture like many others..

Zolatone made the original paint. They ceased operations but there are similar products:

Thanks guys, Thorton would be the perfect match but unfortunately they show out of stock.
70GS455, have you personally seen those products once sprayed? I can probably order in the one from The Parts Source so if it's like the image I posted I'll go with them. |
Has anyone used this from OER?
https://www.summitracing.com/dom/par...illocation=dom It also comes in a can too. https://www.musclecarsandclassics.ca...Pc8V3qjEfx8Pyn This too that 70GS455 mentioned. I'm just not sure if he has actually used and can vouch for it. https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/pro...ne-quart/40022 These two products seem to be what is available so can someone let me know if they have used either one and were happy or not with the product I'd really be happy to hear your thoughts. Thanks |

Finished 65 trunk (5 days ago) with Z-tone. Did base coat with black flattened epoxy primer. Sprayed zoletone spatter paint (this one from parts place) with 2.2 size tip. Would have used larger if I had available. Combined with z tone quick step catalyst at 16:1 (used 2oz for 1 qt RTS) Pleased with results and durability...so far. Scrubbed with wet cloth: no color transfer. With lacquer thinner: very small transfer of black (could have been from primer?) Z-tone and quick step catalyst from TCP...will use on next one. Where was your car built? The Fremont built cars had a very different texture to the trunk spatter.

This an Oshawa car, the pic that I posted is from the actual car.
