Super Sucker
What spacer have you found to produce the most power on a 467 with 330 edelbrock heads on a Victor with a 1050 dominator on top?

Are you running enough valve lift to access all of that 330 cfm?

For what it's worth, ECR runs a 1 inch Wilson 4 into 1 spacer under a 1050CFM Holley on their TA engines for a 15 horsepower gain. They're currently producing 935 HP at 8600rpm out of 366 cubic inches.

So if your running about .650” lift than at what lift is your heads rating of 330 cfm at?
Thats what I was asking, but thanks for the duration specs none the less. |
Please note that even with the Victor and way more so with a less tall Nash type that the more spacer height you stack on the leaner the outer 4 runners will be.
Even looking at your plugs might not give any clear indication of a lean issue, but your exh temps sure will , so you really want to monitor those and if your above 1375 F at full throttle then your well on the road to detonating and the damage that such can make even in a motor of only 400 hp. |

1050 on top a 3 inch 4 hole spacer on top an iron head 462. Thousands and thousands of street miles no problems ever.

Whether or not a spacer will do *anything* is with a fair amount of testing. We tried a few different ones during my last dyno session and the results werent spectacular. One didnt do anything and the other got us 7hp at 6800 on a 14:1 engine and 340cfm heads. It was a lot of expense and effort and not much in return.

Generally on the dyno Ive found single plane intakes like the 4 hole taper or super sucker or taper combo or what ever you want to call it, they have a lot of names, seems to work best and I typically will use a 1 1/2" to a 2" and find a few HP on the dyno. We've seen as much as 12 HP and as little as 4 or 5. Dual plane intakes Ive always had best results with an open spacer. You'll just have to try a few and see. Easier when done on a dyno rather than the track. |
