Yes, there needs to be a proper gap between the converter mount pads when pushed all the way into the trans and the flywheel, the actual spec is 1/16 - 1/8, but I would suggest closer to the 1/8...

So I have my converter unlock at <3% TPS, so I can coast when I lift. That you don't want to have on all the time. When you're in anything but OD, you get full engine braking the way I have it setup....
