Checking the Butler website I see engine kits ranging from 11 to 22k and complete engines from 14 to 24k.

If I were in the market paying an extra grand to not be stuck with an inferior 557 block...

I can see using the 557 if you lived in a country...

I can see using the 557 if you lived in a country outside the USA where Pontiac blocks are scarce.

Otherwise why when you can use a different 400 block that’s not known for an inherent design...

I have the same problem with my Le Mans.

Depending on the light and angle it looks like it’s been involved in a collision, also makes the paint job look a little patchy in some spots…… :D

For zero dollars invested you can more than likely get enough clearance to run the Doug’s headers with a normal sized filter....

Surprisingly powerful, just a stock 421 HO with compression dropped to 8.82:1. Has just log exhaust manifolds and a 2-1/2” mandrel bent H-pipe exhaust with Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers....

It’s easy to just swap in a manual master and delete the booster. You just end up using the upper two studs on the firewall and the lower two don’t interfere with anything. Just put nuts and lock...
