1964 Brake lights

So I have a question that I hope isn't to dumb. On my 64 the brake lights won't work unless the key is on. Is this how they are wired or did somebody hook something up wrong?

I run all Mallory sttuff on my car. I ran the unilite for 13 years with out a problem and this year swithched to a Mallory S/S so I could run 12 volts hoping for a better spark.

I'm running 15x10 pro stars with 5.5 backspace...

I'm running 15x10 pro stars with 5.5 backspace and they fit great on my 71. I'm running 296/65R15 drag radials with the wheel lip rolled and the fit tight.

It won't be to bad with those gears. That is the nice thing with having a stick. I ran 2.73 with a 4 speed when I did the power tour and it was fine. I don't know of a chrt for the speedo...

Got mine mounted behind the license plate also....

Got mine mounted behind the license plate also. Easy to do if you are running a fuel cell and you can take the plate bracket off easy enough for when you race.
