I realize not many may be out there, but curious...

I realize not many may be out there, but curious if any one can confirm the correct air cleaner lid finish for a 1973 Ram Air 400 or 455 option code WU3 RAM AIR on the Formula.

Was it a chrome lid...

The original cable is fraying and the grommet...

The original cable is fraying and the grommet wore out of its bracket. Unsure what I will do yet. Assuming I can get a new cable made(?) and then need that grommet secured.

With a very similar combo I used a Torker II...

With a very similar combo I used a Torker II intake for more hood clearance over an RPM..... 1" spacer added gains on the dyno but did not use it when in the car due to clearance needed.

500hp is fine with 2.5" pipe and some longer mufflers on there for the family. Forget the flowmasters. A 2.5" pypes pipe kit and their quieter option mufflers - or get mufflers then from dynomax or...

What is the accepted correct shade of black on the water pump, crank, power steering pulleys -- and the power steering pump itself for these cars?

You can always just buy a pair of new reproduction mirrors that fit the 1969 firebird perfectly. Much easier and they have the right mounting angles.
