That is good advice but I will tell you this. I learned how to tune my LS1 rather than use a tuner. Installed my own parts and even designed my own custom camshaft. Results have all been as expected....

What rpm are you revving your 400 to?

See mostly 5500rpm. Anyone go higher? What top end and bottom end combo are you using?
hydraulic roller camshaft?
Dual plane?
cylinder heads?
Connecting rod and piston info?

400s or better...
