Some kind of underlayment is required or you risk rot in the T-111 from condensation. But probably not an actual vapor barrier like polyethylene sheet. Tyvek isn't a vapor barrier, it blocks air...

Maybe not easy to find at the local stores but Michelin does still produce their classic XWX. I believe 205, 215 and 225 widths in 70 section 15 inch are all available. Blackwall only of course.
