Here's a pic.

It's the threaded port to the driver's side of the distributor.

Usually got one of those goofy square hole pipe plugs in it, unless someone has already taken it out.

Probably Mark Zucker-turd

He's stealing everything else that's not nailed down.
Or at least offering the financing to steal.....

All 1970-72 'performance' engines had pushrod guide plates and the bolt-on drippers.

Guideplates bolted on either under the screw-in studs on 'performance' (GTO/FB/GP) engines or with two separate bolts on each one for 'low performance engines with pressed studs.

My experience: only a clamp on the brake booster hose where it attaches to the carb.

I think it's that normal greenish-brown spring clamp, same as used on fuel lines.

Never seen a clamp on the PCV hose on either end.
No clamp on the booster end of the power brake booster hose. ...

It definitely could.

We had a 'leaker' that would fluctuate between 230 and 250* steadily up and down. Never overheated, just ran hot and fluctuated.

And there was always a steady stream of tiny bubbles in the...

You can rule out a bubble in the cooling system by drilling a 1/8" hole in thermostat

That way, when you run the engine, any air will bleed of fairly quickly.

There should not be ANY bubbles circulating in the system when the water is full and it is at operating temperature. ...

Difficult.

Your steering linkage is pretty close to the oil pan with the engine in the stock location.

If the 'slight knocking' is deeper in sound and not a tapping, it'll be main bearings

My guess will be the thrust bearing got taken out.

And the gold glitter will be particles from your bronze distributor gear.

Pull it out. Tear it apart. Fix. Have some more fun.

It's the...

That's a fair assessment...

IMO, quite a bit is "beyond the grasp" of members with '2012' in their username....

Joe out (again). I know when to keep quiet. ;)

Unless that is a 'matching numbers' or some special block, we'd never chance it....

That would be defined in my book as a 'major screw-up by the machinist'.

As mentioned, there would be some serious conversation with the owner of the machine shop. You took him a usable block and...

Question FAKEBOOK invasion of PY. I finally got switched to the 2015 theme....

I had tried before somewhere in the 'My Account' stuff. That didn't work.
This time I did it at the bottom left of the main page. Thanks MisterP266 :)

Testing now to see if the forum will work...
