I built them directly on a ‘69 Firebird 400 4-speed car I used to own, built to clear the factory clutch linkage.

Since that’s no longer the case I wouldn’t use that cam and lifters.

One and a half thousandths is immaterial. Even 15 or 20 thou means nothing here. Depending on where you find that pushrod length listed the number seems to vary a little depending on the source.

Of course it may depend on exactly which output...

I’ve never seen a 1964 block that wasn’t drilled for a starter.

1964 389 GTO and 326 Tempest engines all had a block mounted starter.

Even the 1964 421 HO that’s in my ‘64 Le Mans convertible...

Pontiac already had the 326 beginning in 1963 with a 3.78” bore (reduced in 1964 to 3.72” for a true 326 instead of 336) using the 3.75” stroke...
