66 would have been better if they'd done the same rocker molding treatment for it as they did for the 67 GTO. Wire mesh in the 66 grills would have worked too.

Bill, 66 had the 4 way flashers too as a option.... pull switch under the dash. My first 66 had it from the factory. It's added to the one I have now.

Also you could get shoulder belts for the 66...

Exactly. No other year sold as many GTOs as 1966. And it was the first year as a stand-alone model.

The best way to make the 66 tail lights seen is to black out the rear panel with a matt black finish. I'm planning on doing it to my 66 in the near future.
