Pontiacs are only a slide fit, unlike other engines. I've pulled a number of balancers that will slide off with a slight tap......others, not so lucky. :)

For info, the factory tube in my 69 Firebird's TH350 is the "top hat" style seal.....first time I'd seen one, my auto trans guy said they are a much better seal than the o ring.

I used a TH350 behind the 455 in my 71 build....used 36 element sprag, steel drums, HD vasco input shaft etc etc......had a tight built converter design to flash to 3000 under the 455's full throttle...
