I did exactly that to my 66, which has a 455 and TH400 which explains the later flex plate.
Bolted straight up and made a huge difference

there are different kinds of loc tite , colors...

there are different kinds of loc tite , colors show strength, blue ,red ,etc...use the correct one for the job!
