I remember someone mentioniing Mopar pins at one time as a lighter optiom. Don't remember the details though. And I may be completely off as well.

Piece of distributor shaft. Coated with gasket...

Piece of distributor shaft. Coated with gasket shellac and driven in from the top. Easy enough to remove if ever you want to go back to dipstick.
