65 hood release

Helping a friend with a 65 GTO. Does anyone have a picture of the hood release with lever? And where you reach in to get to it. Does it use the vertical support in front of the radiator?

If your dome light works correctly when you have the courtesy socket removed you are real close to finding the probelm. There is a ground connection being made there and simulating a door switch...

The hot + wire is present at motor when key is on. Dash switch delivers the ground - to the motor. Motor case ground is there for it to continue to the park location after dash switch is turned off.....

The green pair would go to reverse switch . The orange pair would go to the downshift switch if it is an A/T. I belive this is correct and I think you are correct on the master switch and relay.

I probably won't get it cured soon as it is time for its hibernation. My thought of adjusting the right side is probably not a good one as the shoes will contact and ether the fluid flow is stronger...

It's probably normal. The tail light lamps are 2 circuit, so the ground needed for it to light up comes thru the other filiament which is connected to front marker lights which then are grounded.

We got it to work. He is a very skilled machinist, has run his own shop for 40+ years. He also redid the detents in the shifter so would get all positions. Not on the road yet but progressing. Thanks...

Took my 66 GTO 4 spd for a road trip 40 miles each way. The clutch chattered in reverse but was fine in foward gears. Pedal seemed normal. Any thoughts.

The 65 did not use a cable. It uses 2 shift rods and a pivot between them. Our probelm is the pivot is in the space the cross member is in. Also the speedo cable wants that space.
