Also have an 8097 that is crossed out and stamped 1099...

In the 68+ GTO along with Camaro and Firebird the "Seam" was always offset and usually forward (I think) opposite the latch side. Marks were usually on factory W/S...

L-76 denotes 350 HO Engine (4-BBL Carb)
K-45 denotes HD Carb-Air Cleaner and Silencer.
So...based on that part number on your air cleaner...

Take a look at the attachment right out of the 1969 Tempest PMI manual I mentioned. Clearly shows that Air Cleaner part #6485500 is for
a 1969 Tempest w/L76 and D/K45...

Local "Detail Garage" here said to use a clay bar. My son did so on side glass for his 65 tempest which had the road haze. Came out great. used the clay bar lubricant as well.

Keith I did not know this. Always wondered why all the F Body Plants were stamping bodies in 68 (Lordstown, Norwood and Van Nuys) but only Baltimore and Oshawa for A Bodies.
