I have found that the number I thought was the flexplate number (9779070) is actually the ring gear number.

I was able to find a correct flexplate.

Yes, the starter interfaces with this flexplate.
I test-started the engine with this flexplate.

The flexplate that came with this engine is GM #9779070.
That is appraently the correct flexplate for Pontiac 65-74 V8 with THM400 transmission, so I figured it must...

I've got a flexplate on the 66 OHC that I bought, but I think it might be a V8 flexplate.

I don't have a 1966 chassis parts book.

Anyone know the part number for the base 1966 OHC flexplate?
