I'm in this camp. How bad is yours? I typically just glue my timing cover onto the block face with Ultra Blue (no gasket) and it fills in any corrosion pits in the mating surface. Never had a leak....

That pink wire is a "trigger" wire to turn the ECU on (typically the factory coil positive wire), but if you've left the resistance wire in there it'll only see about 8V when the key is in the run...

Are you using the 3.5" hand held to tune or the laptop cable with the Holley software? Pro tip, the hand held is good enough to get it started. Not good enough to tune it.
