Great story. I wish that I would have bought a few cars that came my way. Hindsight is 20-20. Why are some of the vin sheet cells covered? Do people misuse the info?

Thanks, Interesting book. For the Firebird 400/4bbl it indicates a 40838 pump. Likely the same for a Lemans.

I found the build sheet for my 71 lemans sport convert on top of the gas tank. Anyone know how to read the codes? For instance, the fuel pump box shows a 3. Is that a particular pump??

So if I want to connect a 1971 factory radio expecting 8 ohms to a newer amplifier connected to 4 ohm speakers, can I splice in a four ohm resistor in series to get the nominally correct resistance?...
