They used 3/8 " big block chevy bolts in those rods. I would recommend you replace the bolts in that rod at least. You will have to have the big end resized after you do.

I think the key here is what 61-63 said. There is infinate more stuff availible for the chevy than the Pontiac. Also most the newer stuff coming out for Pontiac is designed more for the 455 size...

The old 268h is 218 at 0.050 on both intake and exhaust with .454 lift at 110 centers. The XE268H is 224 at 0.050 on the intake with .477 lift and 230 at 0.050 with .480 lift exhaust at 110 centers....
