Cliff...geez what a nightmare you have...my sympathies. At least this G8 has rather impressive write-ups as quality control and fit/finish seems top notch. I guess I'm just venting disappointment...

My engine combo is similar to your except cam. I'm running Crower 60919 (231/240, with 517 lift using 1.65 rockers)

On the chasis dyno...got it to 424 hp, 487 lbs torque...all done at 5200 rpm....

Run a dialed in Q-jet myself...about 500 hp and low 12s in a 69 GTO. Works great and I'm staying with it...excellent street manners. But I will stay this...Q-jet is not the prettiest carb one can...
