I was just kissing the pistons with aluminum rods, zero deck, and a .060 gasket. I do have a small dome though. But I think it probably touched when it over revved breaking a rear end and bounced it...

I tried the Afco BNC shocks and they were very stiff on the compression. Made the car bounce worse than the shocks I had on it. Get the Afco double adjustable shocks.

You only need the shield if you are in an open cockpit car. You need a full face helmet at 6.39. It don’t have to use the shield

Since the bars are in the bottom hole you are going to have to tighten up the front end or limit the front end travel. Limiting the travel makes a huge difference.
