Took the carb apart today to put in some new stuff, put in 73 primary jets and 83 secondary. I blocked off the secondary power valve and put in the yellow vacuum spring. While open I found that the...

Tuning Vac. Secondaries carb for the Track?

Last season I was having major carb issues with my combo. It always ran rich no matter the jet sizes, power valves, float adjustments, anything. It was an 850 Demon, there is absolutely nothing wrong...

I currently have a coan 10" 3500 in the car atm. Although I do have another stall that is more around the 4500 range, which for this build will probably be my choice.

I would look for a pre 74 block of either displacement, 400 or 455. They are usually stronger blocks and will hold up to much more punishment especially if you are expecting 500+ horsepower.

Here...

Running mid to high 11s in a 3500lb car is 425+ rwhp. It would take over 400 just to push it into the 11s. Another member has hit an 11.97 with almost the EXACT same combo I have right now. They had...

I was under the assumption that a hyd. roller cam was pretty much as low maintenance as it gets. Also, the fact I am thinking about a roller cam is that they can make way more power then a regular...

All you need:

Don't get me wrong, I would rev it higher if I felt like it was safe enough to do it. I still think I would try to keep it below 6500. So maybe a 62-6500 Max. I'm just used to the pontiac way of...

With the flow of eheads and a hyd. roller cam, I would say the RPM would be a great fit for your combo. The TII wouldn't be a bad choice either, but it's power range is from 2500-6500 if I remember...
