67 Grand Prix Hideaway Actuator Conversion from Vacuum to Electric... Diode Question

I'm converting the hideaway headlight actuator on my 67GP from vacuum to electric. I want the actuator to turn on when I pull out the headlight switch and to turn off when the switch is pushed in....

My ash tray bracket has two holes. The left hole has a bulb socket. I did find a flat LED with a bayonet base on EBay. I'll give that a try. Thanks for your help!

Lift the arm up near the bottom lip of the skirt...

Lift the arm up near the bottom lip of the skirt so that the end of the arm can come out of the bottom lip. Then lowering the arm will release the top clamp.
