Hood Bumpers .... Hood doesn't fit with them!

Trying to finish 69 GTO project. Hood fits pretty good without the 4 small hood to fender bumpers installed. After bumper install hood "rides high" about 1/4 plus inches.

I just purchased a set of 1" lowering springs from Summit (BRW) or something like that.
I removed the new TRW set that I installed previously. The new 1" lowering spring are at least 4 inches...

Replacement Frnt Springs (Machined End UP or Down)

Replacing my springs. Old one same at both ends. New ones have one end machined or milled flat. I think this goes up due the Index at the bottom controll arm. Does the machined end go up?

Yea! I finally cut enough "out" to clear the lower controll arm end and everything working good now. I was able to save the shields with about 1 1/2 sq. inch hole removed at the bottom.
