I finally got around to installing my new motor which was built over last winter.
The cam I'm using is the -8 grind, .440 lobe w/ the extremely quick ramp. It has 280 deg. @ .050 and has .704" at the valve. It's been a while since my last roller motor blew apart and thus, I forget the characteristics of my old cam. I have the lash set right on the money and the valve train noise is significant. I vaguely recall that's what the last one sounded like.
However, I question the magnitude. Is this normal with this quick of ramp as the valves are being slammed open/closed???
You can actually hear the valve train over the exhaust note which is obnoxious to say the least.
Thanks,
Eric.
