Got a good deal on a pair of barely used Corbeau racing seats for my '73 'bird. Seats didn't come with mounting brackets though. Corbeau lists two different part numbers for the mounting brackets. One part # is for '70 - '74, the other is for '75 - '81. the '70 - '74 brackets are more expensive, probably due to less demand. Up to this point I thought all the 2nd gen seats were interchangeable, that any year '70 - '81 seat would bolt directly into any 2nd gen without any issues. Is there really a difference with how they mount to the floor? Has anyone ever put '75 - '81 seats in an earlier car and did you encounter any problems? Obviously I'd like to get the cheaper brackets if they'll work just as good. Since the seat is a universal design and can be bolted into all kinds of cars, the difference must be with how the brackets mount to the floorboards.
