I know with Chevrolet, if you take the dist housing out, you never get oil to one side of the engine. I forget if olds is the same way. But if you don't have an oil priming tool, usually cranking the motor with a battery charger on and off for a couple of minutes will get oil to most of the engine and valve train. And if it doesn't, it'll get there quick once the engine starts.
