Interesting that I had a hypertuetic pistoned 428 in a 69 firebird that consistantly ran in the 11's. Still runs great after about 400+ runs on the strip and 10,000 miles on the street. Like Scott said, if you do not gap the rings properly, you will definitely have problems.
