I don't know of an in-tank style pump for a carburetor application, but the quietest electric pump that I've used is a Mallory Comp Pump. Mount it with rubber isolators and you won't know it's there! With the car off on the pump running, I had to bend down at the rear of the car to hear a slight electric whir.
