I used vinyl dye on some seat belts a few years ago to re-color some faded belts. Mine were Aqua / Teal also. I don't think that it would work to change colors, but to restore some faded belts it worked pretty well. Mine had a few rust stains on them and the rust just kept coming through the dye no matter how many coats I put on. Other than not eliminating the rust it worked great!
